Bidar will have soon 3 New FM Radio stations.

| The new stations will come up in Bangalore (one), Mysore (two), and Mangalore (one), four each in Belgaum, Bellary and Davangere, and three each in Gulbarga, Bidar, Bijapur, Chikmaglur, Chitradurga, Gadag Betageri, Hassan, Hospet, Kolar, Raichur, Shimoga, Tumkur, and Udupi. All the proposed channels will be run by private entities. Now, the State has 41 radio channels, including some being run by All India Radio. As per the note prepared by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which was approved by the Union Cabinet on Thursday, a total of 839 new FM radio channels are proposed to come up in 294 cities and towns across the country. According to the government’s new policy, all the cities with one lakh and above population will have a private FM radio channel. The government plans to award the licences to private companies through a process of e-bidding, followed by Department of Telecom for the auctioning of 3G spectrum, sources in the government told Deccan Herald. Dharam Singh urges Chief Minister not to demolish unauthorised houses in Bidar
Former Chief Minister Dharam Singh led a delegation which met Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa at his residence and urged the latter to order Bidar city authorities not to demolish unauthorised houses.
Under a 'master plan' for the city, the authorities had decided to demolish all unauthorised constructions and it had led to an agitation during the past six months.
Speaking to reporters after leading a delegation from the district, which included Animal Husbandry Minister Revunaik Belmagi, Mr Singh said the Chief Minister had assured them that the plan would be put on hold and he would visit Bidar shortly.
