Former Chief Minister Dharam Singh led a delegation which met Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa at his residence and urged the latter to order Bidar city authorities not to demolish unauthorised houses.
Under a 'master plan' for the city, the authorities had decided to demolish all unauthorised constructions and it had led to an agitation during the past six months.
Speaking to reporters after leading a delegation from the district, which included Animal Husbandry Minister Revunaik Belmagi, Mr Singh said the Chief Minister had assured them that the plan would be put on hold and he would visit Bidar shortly.
