Inspired by the Brihat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, the Bidar district administration has chalked out plans to create mural art on the walls of important buildings in the city. We have requested the Karnataka Shilpa Kala academy to help us out, P.C. Jaffer, Deputy Commissioner, said in Bidar on Wednesday. The academy has agreed to conduct a sculpture artists’ camp in Bidar. We will be supporting them with logistics support, he said.
Academy president Mahadevappa Shilpi held a meeting with the Dr. Jaffer and other officials on Wednesday. Mr. Shilpi said they were considering creating murals on the walls of a railway underbridge near the railway station. The cultural history and heritage of Bidar district will be the main theme, he said.
