Kalaburagi-Bidar railway line work in progress: Baig

Infrastructure Minister R. Roshan Baig said the State government has released a sum of Rs. 186.01 crore as its share in the long-pending Kalaburagi-Bidar new railway line project and the Union government has released a sum of Rs. 275.25 crore as its share in the past three years from 2012-13.

In a written reply to an unstarred question of BJP MLC Amarnath Patil in the Legislative Council, Mr. Baig, who also holds the Information and Public Relation portfolio, said the work of laying the new railway line between Kalaburagi city and Bidar city was in progress.

During 2012-13, while the State government released Rs. 17 cr., the Centre released Rs. 11.08 crore; in 2013-14 the State released Rs. 37 cr. and the Centre Rs. 113 cr.; and in 2014-15 the State released Rs. 132.01 cr. and the Centre Rs. 151.17 cr.Similarly, for the ongoing Munirabad-Mehboobnagar new railway line project, the State has released Rs. 120 crore and the Centre Rs. 126 crore, in the past three years. While the State government released Rs. 95 crore and Rs. 25 crore during 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively, the Union government released Rs. 13 crore, Rs. 98 crore and Rs. 25 crore during 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15 respectively. Mr. Baig said that for the proposed Coach Building Factory in 

Yadgir, the State government released Rs. 15.01 crore in 2014-15 and the Centre had not released any fund in the period.
The Centre has not released any money this year for the Coach Building Factory in Yadgir
