Bidar: All voters in the district whose names have been included in the electoral rolls can get their Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) issued till July 31.
Chairing a meeting of nodal officers here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Sameer Shukla said pictures of 1.4 lakh voters were yet to be collected. Voters can approach helpdesks in the tahshildars' offices to get EPICs by getting photographed or submitting passport size photographs, he said.

Bidar train timing has been revised
Much awaiting Nanded-Bangalore and Bangalore-Nanded Train timing has been revised.
As Bidar people were hoping and waiting to see some big changes in the timing that will make Bidar to Bangalore and vice-versa journey convenient, but the sad part is, except for few minute difference there nothing much change in timing , and the same timing has been updated with plus or minus of few minute.

Shaha Gunj Kaman is about to fall(ruin)
We might be remembered, Few year back the newest among all the Kaman(Gate) "NAYA-KAMAN" ruined and now the another major gate/entrance " SHAHAGUNJ-KAMAN" which tells Bidar glory is also about to fall(ruin).
If the concern person will not act, as soon as possible then Shaha Gunj Kaman will be ruined soon and same as Naya Kaman, only the name will be left.

GMR refuses to give NOC for Bidar airport
BANGALORE: Karnataka will have to abandon plans for a civilian airport in the state’s northern-most district, Bidar, after infrastructure and airport major, GMR, refused to give a no objection certificate (NOC) to the project.
The state government, which is keen on having an airport in each district headquarters, had secured the permission of the defence ministry some time ago to convert an old defence airport for civilian use in Bidar. It planned to upgrade the terminal and improve facilities to attract civilian aircraft and passengers.

Bidar, which has a number of heritage monuments, does not even have a tourism office, and according to a Tourism Department official, the region has remained neglected so far.
Things could change with the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) proposing to operate package tours to this region. “The districts are all about 500 km or more from places such as Bangalore or Mysore, which acts as a deterrent,” sources in the Tourism Department told The Hindu.

Gastroenteritis affects 1,073 in Bidar this year
Bidar: As many as 1,073 cases of gastroenteritis have been detected in Bidar district since January. Of these, 409 cases have been detected since the monsoon, Health Department officials said here on Tuesday.

Major infrastructure projects proposed in Bidar district
Another private concern has evinced interest in developing heritage tourism in the district. It will invest in creating infrastructure that could explore the district's tourism potential. “This project was also approved in the GIM,” he said. “Places of tourist importance such as the Jharni Narasimha cave temple will be developed. Access roads to the shrine are nearing completion. Work on providing passenger amenities and other infrastructure is under progress,” he added.

Bidar woman diagnosed with A(H1N1)
Bidar: A 35-year-old woman from Bidar has been diagnosed with A(H1N1) in Hyderabad.
The woman, who was receiving treatment in Bidar District Hospital, was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on Friday.
After conducting tests on her, doctors in the Hyderabad hospital said that she was suffering from A(H1N1) influenza. Her condition is said to be serious.Read Full The Hindu

No helping hand at all for this BIDAR poor boy
In yet another incident where access to medication is denied to the poor, a 10-year-old boy Rathikanth from Bidar is on the verge of losing his right hand due to neglect and complacency on the part of as many as six hospitals.
Ironically, Rathikanth’s story has come to light on Doctors’ Day. Rathikanth, who injured his right forearm about a month ago, was referred to Bangalore hospitals for better treatment by Dr G M Shetkar of Bidar, as his clinic lacked equipment and facilities to treat ‘compressed syndrome’ that the boy suffered from.
